Nico’s cooking day

Today I have been scheduling appointments for James, making sure Maddie (cat) gets his meds, tending to Thade’s every need, and cooking like crazy. So far I’ve browned 5 pounds of ground beef for 4 future meals. I’m also making a big pot of Jambalaya this evening to freeze in to meals and lunches too. I’ve got most of my to do list done today, thank goodness, I’m beat.

The weather is so nice outside today, but it is really windy. I need to get out and make a quick run to the store, but I might just put off that chore until tomorrow.

One Sick Kitty

Poor Maddie was pretty under the weather today, so James got away from work to take him to the vet. Turns out Maddie has a UTI with a possible stone. We have to give him meds twice a day, and prescription cat food. The poor kitty, I hope that he is feeling better soon.

To do list not done, but I am

I got a really late start today, I slept in past 9:30 a.m., so I was slow to start from the get go. The laundry is almost finished, but the dishes still need to get done. Thade and I got to the post office and a quick run to see James at work. The weather is so much better today, so we had to play outside a bit. I was hoping that the little guy would take a nap, but no nap so far. Oh well, better get back to the chores, and hope for an early evening.

Getting it together

Yesterday was my brother’s birthday, and we all had such a great day! My mom and brother were so kind to take me grocery shopping for my entire March menu, and so helpful too. We managed to get everything in two carts, and now I have everything together and stockpiled for an entire month!

We came back to our house for a birthday party for Rob. It was so much fun, and Thade had a great time too.

Today I’m cooking and getting the kitchen organized. With all of those groceries, they have got to go some where. I have lots of space, or so it looks. But looks can be deceiving, and every surface in the kitchen is covered with something. I have a lot to do and a lot to cook too. I guess I should go and get to it.

Shopping Day

Today the little guy and I were off on a shopping adventure. I didn’t feel like driving 30 minutes to go to the nearest supercenter, so it was off to the local way too expensive grocery store, and a hope not to spend too much along the way. I’m cooking dinner for my brother on Saturday, it is his birthday. I set my budget for $60.00, and came out of the store for about $41.00, so way to go nico! Thade was great too, no tantrums, and a really long nap after lunch.

There is good news, our little town is finally getting a supercenter. It should be open next month, so I will no longer have the hour round trip to go grocery shopping! I can’t wait! I’ll be saving time and money too.
