Pics from the Trip To Nana’s

May 7th, 2008

Last weekend we visited my Mom, and we had a blast. Thade enjoyed eating lunch at Cici’s Pizza, he cleared three plates. I’ve never seen him eat so much, it was pretty tasty though :) I’m glad that he had extra energy for the day, we were going to be taking a little hike at a local park.

Nana wanted to visit Wildcat Glades, it is one of her favorite places. It is a beautiful park, with lots of trails, and it was free to visit too!

The Wildcat Glades Visitor center is a beautiful Eco-friendly facility, that uses Geothermal heating, promotes recycling, and also has a green roof filled with pretty plants. When we made our way indoors we found terrariums and aquariums with local fish, lizards, and turtles too.

There are many hands on activities for kids. Thade loved all of the giant animals to crawl around on.

The trails and scenery are beautiful and a few of the Dog Wood Trees were still in bloom. The weather was perfect for a nice walk.

Thade had fun throwing rocks into the creek with Nana, but Dylan thought it was a little too bright to be outdoors ;)

My favorite parts of the park were the beautiful purple wild flowers that blossomed everywhere. I also loved the giant rock in the middle of the creek, it was huge. The Spring was beautiful as well.

We will have to visit the Wildcat Glades again soon! Thade has been talking non-stop about just how much fun the trip was. We all had a great day at the park :)

My Day Off

November 24th, 2007

I had such a great day off today. I came home refreshed and slightly more glamorous with a new hair-cut ;) I called my mom on the way to the salon (it is the same drive for both of us) to see if she wanted to meet for a coffee, and for a girl’s day too.

We ended up going to Payless shoes, where I got a cute pair of sneakers, and she found some adorable red boots with a nice high heel. We then headed over to Dollar Tree which was so cool. I found so many great Christmas presents. I found the tote-bags that I had been searching for, and new Christmas Stockings for the kiddos. I also picked up a few stocking stuffers, and a new Christmas decoration for the front door.

After all of the walking and shopping it was time for some Starbucks. I love that coffee shop, and I’m a big coffee drinker too. It was such a treat getting to sit inside, enjoy the quiet atmosphere and relax. We split two desserts and I had a Peppermint Mocha Latte, and she had the Gingerbread Latte, so good. I also picked up a Penguin Cookie for Thade, so he could have a nice treat too.  I think I’m going to have to do this more often.

I thought I should treat my hubby too, so I picked up his favorite Arby’s for dinner. When I got home Thade was at the door, and Dylan was a little nervous about my new hair-cut. I kept saying “same Mommy, just better hair.” James said that the boys were great! I see another “Nico Day Off” in the future ;)

Nico’s Day Off :)

November 15th, 2007

My hubby is taking off a few days next week, and I am taking off next Friday to have a little break too. Normally I stay home the day after Thanksgiving and avoid the shopping madness, but this year I’m venturing out of the house for a little pampering. I’m going to get my haircut and go to Starbucks. I’ll be all by myself, no boys, I can’t wait!

My super sweet Sister-in-Law gave me a gift certificate to get a haircut and style with her stylist, and who doesn’t love free beauty pampering.  I think a day away will do me good, and I’ll come home a more patient and semi-glamorous Mommy ;)
