Getting Ready for a Valentine’s Day Party

I’m head room-mom for Thade’s class, and this week there is a Valentine’s Day party to plan. I  had plenty of great volunteers and helpers to send along tasty treats for the kiddos. The kids are already excited about the party, and I think it is going to be a lot of fun too.

We have to keep the menu pretty healthy. The school has adopted the policy of allowing  just one sweet treat per party, so I had to get creative. There will be Apple juice boxes, baby carrots and apples slices too, heart-shaped sandwiches, and even some Valentine’s day cookies. I’m bringing along the activities. We will be decorating hand-made Valentines for a loved one and playing heart-shaped Hop-scotch.

I’ve just got to get all of my supplies together, and then it’s time to party!

Getting Crafty

August 12th, 2009

This is turning out to be one busy week over at Nicostuff. There are Doctor’s appointments to get to and kindergarten open house too. I had a MOPS Steering meeting last night, but the weekend is ending with a super-fun Bridal Shower for my dear friend Shaunna.

Today I’m spending some time and getting crafty! I love working on any type of craft that comes my way, and I’m hoping that the boy’s will play nice today and let Mommy work on some Bridal Shower decorations.

I should probably get to that major pile of laundry that needs folded today too.  My kitty looks pretty comfy though, and I really don’t want to disturb him.

Nico’s Custom Shop

March 18th, 2009

It has been quite a while since I posted a jewelry project, but this one was just too pretty not to share. I love to make hematite jewelry, but occasionally I’ll get a request for a customized order. Sometimes it is a sewing project, but this time it was matching bracelets for a Grandmother, a Mother, and a little Daughter too.

This was a really fun project, and I really love how the birthstone bracelets turned out. I also got to work with Czech Glass beads, and sterling silver, too fun. I’m a bit partial to the Amethyst one, because I’m a February baby too…

Homebaked Goodies for Rob

March 2nd, 2009

I like to bake my Brother a pie or cake for his birthday, and this year I decided to bake an Apricot Pie.

I made Apricot filling from scratch, and rolled out some homemade pie crust. I like to decorate my pies, so I gathered up a few cookie cutters to make the top crust.

I love how this pie turned out, and James has even requested a “James Pie” too. Now I just hope the birthday boy likes it.
