I gathered my crafting supplies and made simple Birthday Invitations for Thade’s 4th Birthday Party. I used Red Craft paper, Index cards, and stickers from Thade’s collection. I also used my decorative scissors for the edges. I think they turned out pretty cute, and I saved money by using what I already had on hand.  Now let’s get these invitations in the mail ;)

Just a Few More Cookies

The night before Christmas Thade and I made a few more cookies for Santa, and a few dozen for gifts too. We ended up baking 9 dozen cookies, so we had plenty to snack on for Christmas day. I’ve been keeping track of all the baking that has been going on in the kitchen, and this holiday season I have baked 418 cookies! That is just a little over 34 dozen. It has been so much fun, but I don’t know if I can eat another cookie :) Well maybe just one more ;)

Scrubbing the Floors and everything else

August 22nd, 2007

Today I took one look at the kitchen and decided it needed a top to bottom clean. This might take me a while, as Dylan is not being too cooperative. I decided to make up some homemade soft cleaner to help out with the task of scrubbing the base boards, the walls by the trash can, the sink, the fridge, and stove.

I used:
Equal parts-Baking Soda ( 2 tablespoons)
Equal parts- Ajax Ruby Red Grapefruit dish liquid, use what you have on hand(2 tablespoons)
Mix well until it forms a light paste.

I grabbed one of my old dish sponges, and an extra bowl of warm water (for rinsing) and got to scrubbing. I found that once I started I couldn’t stop, the bright pink homemade soft scrub did the job beautifully. The scrub also smells great, and kept my hands nice and soft. I see many more cleaning projects in my future.
