Errands
Usually errands are really unappealing to me, but we’ve been indoors for so very long that I was actually looking forward to doing anything. The weather was lovely and warm for late Winter, and we had a few spots to visit.

We headed to the car wash to clean up and vacuum out the van. Exciting, I know, but Dylan was extra excited. James took out the sand bags for the Spring, and I was moving the boys to the way back of the van. Dylan was thrilled, he loves sitting in the back. Agnes seemed happy with the new arrangement too. They each have their own bit of space now.
Next was Walgreens… I haven’t been sleeping at all, thanks to a month full of kids with the stomach flu. My stomach still isn’t on track just yet either. I saw that Walgreens had a great sale on Melatonin going on, and I also grabbed some Papaya. I hope they help, I’m so tired of feeling yucky.
One last stop at Dollar General for napkins and floss pics, and we were done for the day. The little ones were really good too, which was surprising since Agnes has given up naps. She can be a bit grouchy.
Thade has Tae Kwon Do tonight, so I guess I’m not all done just yet.
Happy Monday everybody.

We’ve been pretty lucky this Winter, the weather has been mild. The kids are already counting down the days to Spring though, and me too… These all too cool days have us indoors spending our time. To make the indoors a little more fun, here are a few of the kiddos favorite indoor activities.

The boys love to draw. We have art stations set up in the foyer and in their room too. Agnes is just starting to draw alongside them too.

One of Agnes’ other favorite activities, it trashing her bedroom… I’m not such a big fan of this one, but she does help with the pick-up before bedtime. I’m sure this is just a phase, but it still drives me crazy.

Speaking of clean-up, all three kids love to take turns with the stick vac. While I’m cooking dinner, I ask them to run around the house and put away any stray toys. One of the boys will then ask to vacuum. I can’t say no to that.

On cool and cloudy days cardboard boxes have become the must have toy.

I can remember when my brother and I were little, and cardboard boxes where one of our favorite indoor toys too. Imaginative play is the best. I love to see what the kiddos come up with next.

Sometimes there is that one “magic” box that every kiddo wants.

There might be an epic coveted box battle going on here. Yep, 3 kids and they all want the same one…

Dress up is always fun too. Well, in Agnes’ game it is swipe your brother’s cowboy hat, and then run as fast as you can before he grabs it back.

Thade is a really great reader, and Dylan is starting to learn how to read too. Agnes loves to look at picture books, and sales ads too. She loves to point out orange objects. Reading is a fun activity for all.
Winter has had it’s challenges, but it has been a great one. I do long for pretty Spring days though, and a little more time out in the garden.
What about you, what do you like best about the indoors?

The Walls Are Closing In
I’ve been stuck in the house a bit too much lately…

The kids have been sick, the weather has been blah, and well I’m stuck.
I’ve been completing a few more de-cluttering tasks. I’m grumpy with myself that I haven’t gotten any painting done though.
Last weekend we rearranged the living room one more time.

We are trying to find more space in an already cramped room. I now want to repaint that room too.
I’ve finally settled on some paint colors for the small bathroom/utility room.

I just need a few more hours in the day to complete the task.

Not Again…
No one wanted to wake up and get going this morning. As soon as Dylan stood up, he said his tummy hurt… I kept him home from preschool just in case. I was really hoping that we would be done with this awful flu, but it looks like it just isn’t going away… I really hope he just has idontwanttogotoschoolittis and not the flu. What a day.
