Summer Garden
We have had a lot of rain, and then a giant heat-wave has made it’s way in. The heat-wave looks like it is going to stay put until Fall finally arrives. I became a little slacker in the garden when it was raining, but I’m slowly catching up.

I know I’ve said it before, but Okra blossoms are one of my very favorite flowers.

I planted extra Okra plants this year, but only about 10 made it.

I have a massive amount of Mint that grows on one side of the house. It went into bloom, and the bees and butterflies just love it.

I had a Cucumber plant spring up out of nowhere. I hadn’t planted cucumbers at all this year, but one sprouted where they were planted last year. So far I’ve picked 4 Cucumbers, and I plan on making Cucumber Water with them, and throwing them in pasta salad too.
This year we have also had success with the Sweet Corn that was planted. I’ve picked about 10 ears so far, and they are too tasty. Even Thade gave the Sweet Corn a try, and he doesn’t like any veggies.

Ouch! and Rage!

Hey Agnes! Whatcha doing?

See my new teeth, I’m full of rage!

I’m cutting 6 teeth right now, so say hello to sleepless nights Mommy.

I will still put on my cutie-pie face, but then I will bite your arm.
That’s right, we counted them last night… Agnes is cutting six teeth at the moment, and she is miserable. She is skipping naps, and feeling cruddy, but somehow at 2:00 a.m., she is wide awake and ready to be cheerful. Mommy, isn’t… Also on a side note, Dylan is hitting the terrible three’s hard.

He is moody and super grumpy too. Well then there is Thade, he is just Thade.

He is bouncing off the walls and being his usual crazy self. Bring on the migraine medicine, this is shaping up to be “one of those days”…

Daycation: George Washington Carver National Monument

This was a little adventure that we took earlier in the month.

The kiddos and I really needed a day out of the house, so we took Nana to lunch, and then we decided to head over to Diamond, MO and visit the George Washington Carver Museum. I hadn’t been there since I was a teenager, and I knew that the boy’s would love it.

The Museum is free to the public, and has a beautiful walking trail to take too.

I would like to visit again in the Fall.

There were lots of bridges to see.

The boy’s loved the lake.

It was a warm Summer day, and a thunderstorm was on its way.

There were lots of Bullfrogs and so many dragon-flies too.

We crossed one more bridge, to find the home that George Washington Carver grew up in.

It was a beautiful home.

The view was amazing too.

The day at the Museum was wonderful, and after all of that walking the boys crashed out for a bit too.

Bring on the Fall weather, so we can visit again.
