The Cleaning Cycle Continues

October 21st, 2009

For some reason Dylan decided to dump about 1/2 of the toy bins today, and why you ask, he was looking for one single toy. I decided that when he was taking a nap, it was time to reorganize the toy bins. To drive myself insane, I emptied all of the bins in the middle of the floor, and then sorted through the mess.

I came to a few cleaning conclusions… #1 my kiddos have WAY TOO MANY TOYS!!!!!! #2 I’m already dreading Christmas, because my kiddos have WAY TOO MANY TOYS!!!!!! #3 somehow I need to find room for all of the little girl/baby toys, and there is no room, because my kiddos have WAY TOO MANY TOYS!!!!! #4 if one more toy comes into the house, I’m gonna lose it!

So I cleaned and organized, and watched the food network as I cleaned and organized. I finally got the room put back together and vacuumed, and then Dylan promptly emptied  his toy bins, because I finally found his trains. Looks like the cleaning madness continues for this weary gal.

All Around Town

October 20th, 2009

0072

The light was just right this morning to get a few more Autumn pictures.

0122

We visited downtown to see if the leaves had changed.

013

Dylan and I walked around and enjoyed the warm Fall day.

018

Finally, some of my favorite Maples are in their full Fall color.

014

I just love the bright leaves.

026

Yep, I have to get one of these for our yard.

022

Dylan and I walked the sidewalk outside the Fort.

021

There are still a few trees that haven’t changed just yet.

027

I love the vintage signs downtown, and the brick buildings too.

I hope that you and your family are enjoying Fall too.

Time To Stock Up

October 19th, 2009

With the hospital visit just around the corner, I have got to get the house ready and stocked. I’m planning a few extra shopping trips this weekend to make sure that I have everything on hand for the kiddos and house guests too. I should probably pick up a few extra snacks for my hubby too.

I’m going to shop at Dollar General to stock up on paper goods. You can find a 6 pack of toilet paper for just $1.00, and facial tissues are just $1.00 too. I’m buying extra, and stocking up on paper towels there too.

Yet another trip to Wal-Mart is in order too. I have a lot of items to pick up, meals to buy for and then prepare, and I also need to get Halloween party supplies too. I hope to make it in one big trip, but knowing me, I’ll forget something, and have to make a second trip out. I would like to have the house stocked for at least two weeks, but Thade is eating us out of house and home lately, so if I can get a week stocked, I’ll call it good.

I’m off to make some lists…

An Autumn Walk With the Boys

October 18th, 2009

031

It’s time to bundle up the kiddos, and head out for an Autumn walk. The leaves are really starting to change, and I know I don’t want to miss them.

032

There are plenty of finds along the walk too. Both kids had fun picking up acorns, and Thade found a few pecans too.

039

I love to look at the changing Maple trees. Some are a bright orange, and there are sugar maples downtown that are a pretty bright  pink.

041

I really want to get a Maple tree for our yard.

051

One of my favorite houses nearby has beautiful yellow Maples that line the sidewalk.

053

The kiddos walk along the sidewalk, crunching leaves under their feet.

055

The recent cold snap has really brought out the pretty Autumn colors.

057

As we were walking, we were also planning our Trick-or-Treating route that we will take this year. The boy’s can’t wait for Halloween, and I can’t either.

068

Every Autumn I try to find my very favorite tree, and I think this year this yellow maple is the winner. It is absolutely beautiful at sunset with the sun shining through the bright yellow leaves.

079

We wrapped up our walk, as the temps dropped a bit, and the evening clouds rolled in. The kiddos were getting a little tired too, and I enjoyed spending the extra time with all of  my boys.  However, on the next Autumn walk, we’ll need to bring along a stroller.
