The Tractor Parade

The rain was moving in, but that wasn’t going to keep up from missing one of our favorite parades.

Every year, when Fall finally arrives the first Fall activity is the Pioneer Harvest Fiesta, and it starts off with a fun parade. There are tractors, floats, and plenty of candy too. We found a great spot, and the kiddos brought along their back-packs to bring home all of the candy loot.

Dylan’s favorite wasn’t a tractor though, it was our local trolley. Dylan is obsessed with the trolley, and we are lucky enough that it drives by our house several times a day.

Whenever Dylan spots the trolley, he shouts “I love you Trolley, Ding Ding!” It is pretty cute.

There were lots and lots of vintage fire trucks too.

I think Thade found a new favorite at this year’s parade too. College cheerleaders, and he even got a high-five from a few of the volleyball players too.

You gotta love Thade!

Back to the Tractors.

We always try and pick a favorite, and after seeing all of these tractors, I totally want to drive one.

Besides the Tractors, we also spotted the Cat in the Hat.

And a few little trains too.

Soon, the rain started really coming down, and the parade got to moving.

Rain or shine the Pioneer Harvest Fiesta parade is always a lot of fun. The kiddos also came home with way too much candy, but they were pretty happy about that.

Just One Of The Reasons

Just one of the many reasons that Thade is super awesome.
Yesterday I was sick, really really sick with a bad cold, and my memory wasn’t up to par. I felt so bad about forgetting to send Thade with a show and tell item for school, I worried that I had got him in trouble for it. When it was time to go and get Thade, he was waiting for me with a gigantic smile, and I promptly apologized for my mistake. Thade hopped in the car, and I told him how bad I felt, and he said “it’s cool, I just showed my back-pack for show and tell”.
He is a really great kid, I should probably bake him some cookies for being such a sweetie.

Monday I was finally feeling better, and had plenty of energy back to tackle the week. Thade was feeling better too, but James and Dylan were just starting to come down with the cold. I was thankful that I had enough energy to take care of my boys, and I was determined not to get sick.
Last night, the cold finally found me. I was up till 4:00 a.m., sneezing my head off, and feeling awful. I was focused on remembering all of the errands that needed run in the morning, and hoping that I would hear the alarm ring. At breakfast, I felt really bad, and I was rushing to get the kiddos out of the door, and get Thade to school on time.
I needed to run to the store… I couldn’t remember where I put my list (wonky preggers memory), I made it home from the store, and that was when I remembered that I forgot to send Thade an item to school for show and tell. I feel like a bad mommy today… a bad mommy with an evil head-cold.

I’ve been trying to wait till October to decorate, but decided it was no use. I love Halloween, and I couldn’t wait one minute longer to get out the decorations. Dylan likes the Candy Corn place mats on the table, and I’ve got the table set cute for company this weekend.

We also made a pumpkin centerpiece for the dining room table too. Dylan spotted the tiny pumpkin at the store today, and it was too cute not to bring home. We got outside a little bit today, and gathered some fallen leaves from the yard. After a quick wash, the leaves and pumpkin were ready to go onto the table. I wonder how long this display will last though, the cats love to eat leaves.

I have a few more spider decorations around the house, and we have a big inflatable for the front yard. I’ll try to wait for October 1st to put that one outdoors though.
