Thanks Nana! I think that carpooling is a great way to go too! If we all take little steps we can make a big difference :)

Nicole, I am so proud of you. You actually took it one step further than I did. I was only counting the day I don't drive, but I was catching a ride with a friend on that day. You not only don't drive, but also don't ride. The environment really appreciates your dedication to make this world a better place to live. You really do deserve a gold star*
Love you, Nana

Thanks Vicki! Great job getting the errands all run in just one day, it sounds like it is saving you a lot in the gas tank. That is great that you can go two weeks without filling up too, that really saves.

dh and I don't have to drive everyday both being retired and disabled but when we do go out we try to do all that we have to do in 1 day making sure we make the circle like go to grocery, to the drug store, fruit market or visit mom. This is the way we can go 2 weeks without filling up. We have a 8 cylinder convertible and it sucks the gas but its paid for so we dont want to trade it in dont want a car payment.

but if everyone would just stay home one day a week even if people work during the week, stay home saturday and sunday if you go to church do the grocery shopping or errands on the way home from church

Thanks Ellie! Even though the prices are high, people still drive crazy. It is the same way here, we've nicknamed our street "peel-out alley", morning, noon, and night someone is peeling out and driving way too fast (in town). I'm really watching the RPMs whenever I drive and taking it slow.

I hope to add many stars to the calendar this month, and come up with a few more places to walk to. Thade is really enjoying the walks, and I know that when the cool Fall weather rolls around we can walk even more places.

Thanks Heather! It sounds like you all had a fun weekend, and you can't beat chilling out in the pool on a hot Summer day! That is so cool that you are within walking distance of so many great places, I bet it saves a lot in the gas tank :)

Great idea Nicole! I wish I could do that.......it's amazing to watch how other people drive.....we were coming home from Seattle on Sunday down I-5 and we are going about 70mph with the cruise control set.....you wouldn't believe how many people were just blowing by us! It was crazy......we just couldn't believe how fast people were going with the price of gas the way it is.....I guess they have endless pocketbooks......! Keep up the great work! Hugs.....Ellie

That is cool Nicole. One thing about living in the center of our small town, we can walk to many places. Playground, library, bank. I like to take the kids out in the morning before it gets too hot and let Jake burn some steam at the library. Hope your weekend went well also! We had our oldest swimming in the big pool at a friends house tonight. Too cute!!! He was all grins as daddy put on the arm floaties and held him in the water. Hugs, Heather
