mommy now
I remember anxiously waiting for my little one to say” mommy”, he has been saying “daddy”since he was about seven months old. Finally almost two months before he turned two he said “mommy”, I was so happy, he finally acknowledges me. After he turned two he learned the phrase “mommy now”. At first I thought it was so cute, his first verbal demand that I could understand, and now it is a bit much. I sneak off to the bathroom , and he is banging down the door screaming “mommy now”. If I am in the kitchen doing dishes, or finishing making dinner, its “mommy now”. And if I ever get the opportunity to go grocery shopping, he is crying as I leave “mommy now”.
I know it is just a stage, and it is pretty cute. And it makes me very happy to hear him say mommy, even if it follows a demand. I’m just glad that he hasn’t discovered the phrase “I want that toy right now”.

We are almost all back to healthy. I am feeling a ton better, just a little sleepy. My little guy is back to normal, the house is a big mess, and I am trying to keep up with it all. Hubby is better too, and very busy at work. It is hard to catch up, I have severely neglected my housework. I could be doing laundry right now, but I don’t think that will happen, not when there is leftover cake in my fridge. Cake now, cleaning tomorrow.

Oh yes, tomorrow is the Daytona 500, and I can’t wait. Just in case you didn’t know I am hopelessly addicted to NASCAR, and I will be glued to the T.V. tomorrow, screaming at the top of my lungs for my favorite drivers! I am so excited, it has been a long off season. I wish that I was at the race, the weather is so much warmer there.

Today I turned 26. And I have to say, I have had a very Happy Birthday! Everyone in our home is feeling better, and getting over the yucky cold. I got lots of flowers, a cute tea-cup filled with pink carnations from Connie, and a dozen long-stemmed red roses from my awesome husband. We went out to lunch for my birthday. We even snuck in a little shopping, bowling, and a quick trip to Starbucks to complete the day. It has been a great day, even though I only bowled a 78.
